Abstract

The access to health services at SUS has a significant impact on the living and health conditions of individuals and communities. In the process of building this access, health professionals are the protagonists through their practices that implement and qualify access to health services. This study aims to analyze the promotion of access to primary care services from the perspective of SUS health professionals. It is a qualitative research with theoretical-methodological approach to the assumptions of Institutional Analysis. Data were collected by means of individual interviews and a restitution group with primary care health professionals. The results point that welcoming is an effective strategy to promote access to health services. In the Family Health strategy, the work that is developed by Community Health Agents and teamwork represent realities that qualify access to services. Issues related to communication between professionals, presence of a reference team for care, conducting home visits in the territory and the search for the user's first contact with the network compromise the effectiveness and availability of access to health services
