Abstract

This article analyzes the interfaces between the National Policy for the Comprehensive Health of the Black Population (PNSIPN) and the National Health Surveillance Policy (PNVS), exploring synergies and challenges in integrating strategic actions aimed at racial equity within the Brazilian Unified Health System (Sistema Único de Saúde - SUS). Using a qualitative approach, a literature review, document analysis, and comparative policy analysis were conducted. The findings indicate a lack of a consolidated connection between Health Surveillance and Black Population Health, despite PNVS guidelines addressing the Social Determinants of Health. The document analysis highlights gaps in the implementation of the PNSIPN and the need for greater integration with Health Surveillance to ensure more effective responses to racial health inequities. It is concluded that mainstreaming the fight against racism in the field of Health Surveillance is essential to promote equity within the SUS.
